About Phosphates In A Pool

About Phosphates In A Pool:

Phosphates are a fertilizer and exist in rainwater and runoff.  Phosphates get into the pool in rain and wind.  Phosphates act as a fertilizer for algae and will cause persistent algae if not removed.  Phosphates also wear down the copper electrodes very quickly.

Ideally the phosphates are 0.  Keeping them underneath 100 ppm will minimize these problems..
