How To Cure A New Vinyl Liner
Items Needed To Cure A New Vinyl Liner In A Pool:
- Regular Household Bleach
New vinyl liners release gasses from the manufacturing process (off-gas) for up to 3 years after installation. The gases irritate eyes, cause pH to rise constantly, and cause the liner to feel slippery. Follow these steps to "cure" the liner and stop the off-gassing:
1) Use one gallon regular household bleach for every 10,000 gallons of water in the pool. Pour the bleach in the pool.
2) Continue this each week for 6 to 8 weeks.
3) The liner will be finished off-gassing when it no longer feels slippery.
