When To Replace The Electrode Chamber In A Spa System

Several things can cause damage to the electrode chamber;

  • Leaving the chamber outside in the winter - if there is moisture in the chamber it can crack or shatter.
  • When replacing electrodes, if the electrode screws are turned too tightly it can crack the chamber.
  • When taking the chamber out of the plumbing line, if the union ends are tight, forcing them to turn by hand may crack the chamber (use a strap wrench to prevent cracking).

Generally when you see water dripping from the chamber, you probably need to change it.
