GLB Algimycin 2000 Non-Metal Algaecide and GLB Oxy-Brite Non-Chlorine Shock are the products recommended for ECOsmarte pools to quickly clear the water. Can be used at pool opening, or to clear an algae bloom. Use as recommended by ECOsmarte.
ECOsmarte keeps the pool free of algae as long as the pool parameters are kept within prescribed limits; Copper - .5 - .7ppm, pH - 6.8 - 7.2, Calcium - 400+ppm, Phosphates - >100ppm
If the pH has gotten over 7.2 algae will start and algaecide is needed to kill algae before the pool will clear.
Bring the pH back down with muriatic acid. during daylight hours, use the non-metal algaecide. Follow up after 24 hours with the non-chlorine shock and, if the pool isn't 90% clear after another 24 hours, use another dose of non-chlorine shock.
Test for phosphates and make sure to use a phosphate remover after killing the algae if the phosphates are high.
Backwash when the filter pressure has gone up 6-10 lbs.
