LaMotte Copper Test Kit

Test Procedure

1. Test the pH first. For ECOsmarte pools and spas, adjust the pH to 6.8–7.2 before testing the copper level.
2. Fill the test tube to the 10 mL line with sample water. For a pool, collect the sample below the water surface and away from return jets and skimmers.
3. Add 5 drops of Copper A. Cap the tube and invert it to mix.
4. Remove the cap and add 5 drops of Copper B. Cap the tube and invert it to mix.
5. Insert the tube into the holder and wait 3 minutes for full color development.

Reading Results

1. Remove the cap and place the bottom of the tube on the white area of the color chart.
2. Look down through the length of the tube, not through the side, and match the sample color to the closest color standard.
3. For ECOsmarte pools and spas, the target copper range is 0.4–0.7 ppm.

Important

• Empty and rinse the test tube promptly after testing to prevent staining.
• Read and follow the cautions on the reagent containers.
• Store the test kit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
