How to Backwash the Sand Filter 1) Turn the pump OFF. 2) By pushing down on the valve handle move it to select BACKWASH. 3) Turn the pump ON. 4) Allow the pump to run for 2-1/2 Minutes. 5) Turn the pump OFF. 6) By pushing down on the valve handle move it to select RINSE. 7) Turn the pump ON. 8) Run the pump until the little site glass on the side of the valve is CLEAR or for Approximately 30 SECONDS. 9) Turn the pump OFF. THE STEPS WILL NOW REPEAT 1) Turn the pump OFF. 2) By pushing down on the valve handle move it to select BACKWASH. 3) Turn the pump ON. 4) Allow the pump to run for 2-1/2 Minutes. 5) Turn the pump OFF. 6) By pushing down on the valve handle move it to select RINSE. 7) Turn the pump ON. 8) Run the pump until the little site glass on the side of the valve is CLEAR or for Approximately 30 SECONDS. 9) Turn the pump OFF. 10) By pushing down on the valve handle move it to FILTER. Your filter is now correctly and thoroughly backwashed. At this time make a note of the filter pressure and wait until it reaches 6-10psi above that number to backwash again. |
