Why to not test alkalinity in a pool:
ECOsmarte converts the alkalinity to bicarbonate which will trick the test kit, therefore, alkalinity can’t be measured accurately.
The only 4 things that need to be tested in an ECOsmarte pool are:
- pH 6.6 - 7.0
- Copper .4 ppm - .7 ppm
- Calcium 400+ ppm 300 ppm minimum)
- Phosphates.0 ppm (under 100 ppm)
